What about shipping?
Federal and state regulations concerning direct-to-consumer shipments of wine are very complex and ever-evolving.
We currently offer direct shipping to:
AK, CA, DC, FL, ID, MN, MO, NE, NH, NM, NV, OR, SC, TN, VA, WI, WV, and WY.
If you live in one of those states, we will send your wine via ground shipping when it is ready.
We can not ship directly to the following states at this time, but we are able to arrange for you third party shipping to:
AL, AR, AZ, CO, CT, DE, GA, HI, IL, IA, IN, KS, KY, LA, MD, ME, MI, MS, MT, NC, ND, NJ, NY, OH, OK, RI, SD, TX, VT, and WA.
If you live in one of these states, we will notify you when your wine is available for shipment.
If you wish an alternative method to receive your wine, you can also choose to:
- choose your own third-party service that ships to all 50 states such as Buffalo’s Shipping Post, Premier Wine Shipping, Stagecoach Express and Company; or
- have your wine stored in a local Napa Valley storage facility, such as 55 Degrees, to await pickup or shipment at a later date.
Should you choose one of the alternative methods, we will be happy to transfer your wine anywhere in Napa or Sonoma at no cost to you.
If your wine is shipped via a third-party or delivered for storage locally, we are obligated to collect CA sales tax for your order.
The tables below provide approximate shipping costs for shipments by us or third parties for your reference. Please note that actual shipping costs may differ somewhat from the amounts shown. To discuss options for receiving wine in locations not identified (MA, PA, UT and international destinations), please contact us via phone or email.

Insurance
You may buy insurance for your shipment for 1% of the purchase price of the wine. If you would like to add insurance, please let us know when you place your order.

How do you deal with adverse weather conditions?
In order to ensure that your wines are protected from adverse weather conditions, long distance shipments are sent via UPS in temperature controlled trucks to local hubs and then delivered the next day to your designated address. We are also exploring additional alternatives to ensure that we offer you the best available solutions.
Taxes
We are obligated to charge sales tax on wines shipped to customers in the following states: CA, NH, VA, and WY. In addition, we must collect CA sales tax on all orders for which third party shipment is arranged.
Terms and conditions
The Buyer assumes title of the wine once purchased. By arranging for transportation of the wine, we are providing a service to and acting on behalf of the purchaser. VinConnect makes no representation as to the legal rights of anyone to ship or import wines into any state outside of California. The Buyer is solely responsible for the shipment of wines and for determining the legality and tax/duty consequences of having wine shipped to him or her.
Wine may only be sold and delivered to individuals 21 or older. An adult must be present to sign for a package containing wine.
