After your order arrives in our warehouse, we will notify you when it is available to be shipped. We generally suggest holding shipments over the mid-summer and mid-winter months to avoid potential damage to wine while en route due to extreme temperatures, and we will hold orders due to weather concerns at no cost.
Ownership of all wine passes from VinConnect to the purchaser in the District of Columbia and the purchaser is responsible for shipping it to his/her home state. By arranging for transportation of the wine via common carrier, VinConnect is providing a service to, and acting on behalf of the purchaser, who will be billed for such service. By utilizing this service, the purchaser is representing that he/she is acting in a fashion compliant with all applicable state and local laws regarding the purchase, transportation and delivery of wine, including: obtaining any required permission, paying any required fees, working through properly licensed intermediaries where required, legally taking possession of wine (and in the quantities ordered) and authorizing that he/she is at least 21 years of age.
Please refer to the tables below for shipping costs, which are subject to change without notice. VinConnect’s standard shipping service is UPS Ground for the lower 48 states. Customers desiring expedited shipping are always welcome to request it, but are responsible for any incremental service charges incurred.
Recently UPS has instituted restrictions on wine shipments to the following states: AL, AR, DE, KY, MA, MI, MO, MS, MT, OK, RI, SD, UT and VT. Orders for customers in those states are being impacted, so we will make contact at the time of order to discuss shipping specifics, which may involve an added expense or slightly longer delivery timeline than those noted in the table below.
We are obligated to collect taxes on your order if we are shipping to the following states: DC, NH, VA and WY.
Federal and state regulations (and their enforcement) concerning direct-to-consumer shipments of wine are very complex and ever-evolving, requiring our policies to adapt in response, often without notice. The foregoing are current as of 3/31/17.

VinConnect adds 1% of the total purchase price to all orders for shipping insurance. While we take significant steps to ensure that orders are stored and handled with as much care as our own collection, we cannot guarantee that our delivery partners act in the same fashion. And while we constantly work with them to mitigate any issues, there are times when they fall short and an order is damaged. In that unfortunate event, this charge ensures that our customers are adequately protected with replacements or refunds.
Terms and conditions
VinConnect makes no representation as to the legal rights of anyone to ship or import wines into any state. The Buyer is solely responsible for the shipment of wines and for determining the legality and tax consequences of having wine shipped to him or her. Wine may only be sold and delivered to individuals 21 or older. An adult must be present to sign for a package containing wine.
