About Emilio Moro

More than 100 years of winemaking tradition in the Moro family has led it to become what is now known as Emilio Moro winery. Being related to the land, the deep knowledge acquired and passed through the generations, and their passion and respect for wine, are the result to enjoy in every glass, bottle and toast.

Bodegas Emilio Moro is the fruit of four generations born and raised amongst the vineyards, who grew up treading grapes in their hometown, Pesquera de Duero, where they forged their passion with determination, harvest after harvest. They were born capturing the essence of the land, Ribera del Duero, in order to immortalize it in each wine, for giving you a little part of them and for creating treaures that evoke their origins.

Their philosophy is based on three pillars: tradition, innovation and social responsibility, all combined with passion and love for viticulture.

After a long path making top-quality wines in Ribera del Duero, the Moro family landed in El Bierzo captivated by the richness of the terroir of this region and by the potential of the Godello grape variety, with the same passion that Mr. Emilio Moro transmitted to them, to make the best white wines in the world.

Locations:  The Denominación de Origen (D.O.) Ribera del Duero is located in the northern plateau in the confluence of the four provinces of Castilla y León Autonomous Community. It is one of the D.O. in Spain with the highest altitude, between 750 and 1,000 meters above sea level, which confers unique characteristics for winemaking process.

The D.O. Bierzo is located in the northwestern part of Leon province, in the heart of Castilla y León Autonomous Community. A privileged location in Valle del Silencio, that enjoys a special microclimate thanks to the natural barrier formed by the Sierra de los Ancares mountains, which calms the impetus of the Atlantic squalls.
